SUMMARY:November Thunderhill Driving School - 3 Mile
DESCRIPTION:On November 12th-13th\, GGC BMW CCA takes over Thunderhill Raceway for a two-day driving school on the original 3-mile circuit! There’s no better way to understand how Ultimate your Driving Machine is than to put it on the track!\n  \nA driving school is a fun and safe way to drive your BMW on track and learn the famous ‘driving line’. Every student is paired with an experienced in-car coach offering one-on-one instruction throughout the day. The school is divided into 4 groups from beginner to advanced. In between your sessions you will attend classroom sessions to better understand the science of driving. You will come away with a great sense of accomplishment\, new driving techniques\, and a renewed appreciation for your BMW—not to mention great stories and photos to share with your friends and family!\n  \nOur schools offer as much as 50% more driving time than other clubs and our very experienced coaches come from a diverse background of advance driving and racing experience with a focus on good communication with their students.\n \nWe are also offering our Advanced Coaching program using in-car\, data acquisition systems. Your dedicated coach will help you become more consistent driver by optimizing your braking\, turn-in\, and acceleration timing through every turn of the course. Advanced Coaching students receive additional track time compared to regular coaching. This program is limited to 7 experienced drivers\, all equipment is provided. Advanced Coaching requires an additional fee\, see registration form for details.\n  \n  \n  \nIntegrated with our school will be a BMW CCA Club Race!  Come watch the excitement as the green flag drops and dozens of screaming BMW race cars blast off. This movable celebration of everything BMW occurs at exciting locations throughout the country and is the ultimate motorsport family reunion. This year we are fortunate enough to have our family reunion presented by Michelin once again!\n  \n2015’s Oktoberfest\, hosted by the New Jersey Chapter\, was a week filled with old school charm and exciting driving events. But now it’s time to prepare for the next chapter of the Oktoberfest story¬–the 47th Annual BMW CCA Oktoberfest Presented by Michelin in Monterey\, California!\n  \nO’Fest 2016 will be part of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration spanning almost two weeks in honor of BMW’s 100th anniversary. The event will be held in conjunction with two other favorite club events—Legends of the Autobahn and the Festorics corral—so you do not want to miss this historic event. The host hotel for O’fest will be the Hyatt Monterey and the track is\, of course\, the thrilling Laguna Seca Raceway. Yes\, finally you\, too\, will drive the Corkscrew!\n  \nMonterey is known for incredible scenery\, the Monterey Bay Aquarium\, Fisherman’s Wharf\, and the nearby vineyards in Carmel Valley making this location the perfect setting for the centennial celebration and O’Fest!\n  \nOktoberfest will run from Tuesday\, August 23 through Sunday\, August 28\, 2016\, and will feature many of the staples that longtime attendees have become familiar with at previous gatherings\, including the Bridgestone autocross\, Pirelli Concours\, rallies\, and of course\, high-performance driving events. SUMMARY:2 Day BMW M School and Driving Tour
DESCRIPTION:Ein 100 Jahre Rennsport Abenteuer – 2016\nA 100 Year Motor Sport Adventure – Celebrating BMW 1916 to 2016 \nIn celebration of BMW’s 100 year anniversary\, GGC is hosting a 4 day driving extravaganza that mixes a California back roads dream with BMW’s own Performance Driving experience in Thermal\, CA.  The first two days of this event will include a spectacular drive along hidden back roads with other club members\, departing from the San Francisco Bay Area.  Then enjoy two days of speed and fun driving the latest M cars at BMW’s Performance Driving School in Thermal\, California. \nAbout the Driving Tour: \nSimilar to a Route 66 adventure\, avoiding the interstate\, we’ll comfortably caravan from Hollister to Thermal\, CA with an overnight stop in Santa Barbara.   Each day’s drive will be approximately 6 hours with stops for photos\, breaks\, fuel and lunch.  Participants are individually responsible for lodging reservations and costs\, as well as meal costs and any other expenses.  The host hotel for the tour is the Fess Parker Double Tree in Santa Barbara\, CA for the evening of February 25.  Room fees range from$189 to $269 per night and we recommend booking early for this prime beach side location.   Call (800) 879-2929 to reserve a room.  This tour will limited to 20 cars\, first come\, first served. \n \nWhen: Depart Thursday\, February 25.  Arrive in Thermal on Friday\, February 26. \nIf you want to attend the M School but can’t spare the drive time down and back\, you may arrange other travels plans to meet the group in Thermal for the weekend.  Alternatively\, you are welcome to attend only the drive and not the M-school. \nAbout the BMW Performance Center 2-Day M School : \nThis is a first-class\, superlative\, all-inclusive driving course\, with all the new M Cars provided by BMW and instruction from some of the best drivers in the business.   Also included are 2 nights lodging at upscale and old school La Quinta Resort\, all meals\, and transportation to and from La Quinta to the BMW Performance Center.  Separate registration directly with BMW is required.  The school is limited to 15 drivers\, first come\, first served. \n \nWhen: Saturday and Sunday\, February 27-28 at the BMW Performance Driving Center\, Thermal\, CA. \n2 Day M School Cost :   $3395 – This is a 15% discount for BMW CCA members.   This cost is all-inclusive – 2 Day M School\, 2 nights lodging\, all meals\, and transportation to and from the track.   Registration is first come\, first served.  To reserve your spot in the school\, call Renee Granados at (888) 345-4269 – your BMW CCA member number is required to receive the 15% discount. \nPlease RSVP for the tour and the M School by emailing Dave Ohst. Tour RSVP closes 2 weeks prior to the event. \n  \n
